Many thanks David for answering my question

The computer is a birthday present for my girlfriend ,it arrived only yesterday and is still unopened in the box.

The spec was good for the price £450 ,so I will go down the rout of buying an ext USB Drive if she wants one.

Kind regards

Wayne

The HP 250 G6 does support an internal optical drive as shown in the Maintenance and Service Guide. However, systems supplied without an optical drive are unlikely to include the optical drive connector board, which you would have to purchase from a HP parts supplier, also you might have trouble getting an appropriate drive bezel unless you buy the drive from the parts list as well. Windows 10 omits DVD video playback software, so you would have to buy that, too.

It would be a lot less hassle to buy an alternative 250 G6 specification that has the internal optical drive factory fitted.

If you are in the UK, the optical drive connector board and optical drive are available from HP Parts (click) using the part numbers in the manual I previously linked to. The cost is about the same as an external drive, so you have the option to go internal if you wish.

Happy birthday to your girlfriend!
