Pavilion 17-e102ed
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a question about the fan speed cause my laptop is overheating and i get 90b messages.

Im running on a Pavilion 17-e102ed with a 3632qm core i7 and 16gb of ram.

I been noticing that my fan speed on idle is higher then when the cpu is under more stress/load.

When my cpu runs idle or like 2% the fan speed is 1000 to 1400rpm.

When my cpu gets under more stress/load my fan speed drops to about 600 to 800 rpm and my cpu heats up to 100 to 105 Celcius.

Even at a load of 25 to 40% cpu usage i get these temperatures and my fan speed doesnt go up like it should.

Im no engineer but i am pretty sure that when a cpu gets under more stress/load the cpu fan should speed up and not slow down.

Applied new thermal paste and it doesnt really do much if the fan speed drops then thermal paste is not really helping either.

Anyone has a clue how to manually be able to adjust the fan speed?

Thats not really giving me a answer on the question why my fan slows down under stress/load of cpu and why the fan is turning faster on idle.

What you mentioned me to read i already did as far as possible.

I want to know and did ask why on idle my fan speed goes up to 1400rpm while my laptop is totally doing nothing at all and cpu load is 2% and temperature is about 45 to 50C and it slows down to under 700rpm when the cpu gets hotter.

I know a lot about computers and laptops but this is kinda new to me that a cpu fan slows down when your cpu gets hotter.

The fan should speed up to cool the cpu and not slow down and let your cpu overheat or am i wrong?

Im sorry but honestly i find a lot of complaints on internet about hp laptops when it comes to cooling.

I will ad some images so you can see what i mean and maybe then you can give me a answer that suits the question.

1. Idle and nearly no cpu usage.

2. Still idle and fan speed above 1400rpm

Screenshot_8.png

3. Cpu on half load and temperatures critical cause the fan speed slowing down and not going up like it should

4. cpu load under maximum load and temperatures critical and still the fan speed does not go up.

Maybe this wil give you an idea and maybe you can give me a answer on the question i asked and not give me a answer i already know and did.
