@dy001, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like your laptop is having an issue with overheating, and the fact that the charging didn't proceed normally is concerning as well. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to ensure your laptop is safe and functioning properly:

Power Off and Disconnect Everything

Turn off the laptop immediately and unplug it from the power socket.

Disconnect any peripherals (USB devices, external drives, etc.) and make sure nothing is attached to the laptop.

Inspect the Charger and Cable

Check the charger and its cable for visible damage (e.g., fraying or cuts). A damaged charger could cause electrical issues.

Try using a different charger if you have one available, as the current one may be malfunctioning.

It's best to take your laptop to the nearest service center for a thorough check-up, as this situation is quite concerning. Please avoid using the laptop until it has been professionally inspected.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
