Pavilion 15-cw1068wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can any one tell me what the difference is between the Pavilion 15-cw1068wm and the Pavilion 15-cw1063wm?  I can't see any differences in the hardware or software specs. I bought the 15- cw1068wm and am considering M.2 drive and memory upgrades but Crucial's site only lists the 1063 model for upgrade hardware.

It seems that the 15-cw1063wm has DDR4 PC2400 memory but the 15-cw1068wm has DDR4 PC2666 memory. The specs from HP say that both come with PC2400 but CPU-Z app says different. The  AMD Ryzen 5 motherboard will allow either to be used.

The specs look identical to me, too. There might be a difference in colors or something very subtle. Not unusual with HP to have 2 model numbers that are identical.

Your model should have all the same upgrade options as the -1063wm but with WalMart models you never know. Open it before buying any upgrade hardware just to be sure things like an M.2 slot are actually present. Good luck.

I have looked at the service manuals of the two and checked the software and downloads of both; no differences. The motherboards have the same part# and both have accelerometers( at least software downloads for both), although there is nothing in the mobility center to verify accelerometer in the 1068. There is a display model of the 1063 at my local Walmart so I'll run over there and look at that one. If that is the same, I'll accept your solution anyway.

Thanks

HP sources memory wherever it is more advantageous to buy it. In either case the memory runs at 2400 mhz not 2666. The difference in memory does not explain the difference in model numbers.
