pavilion dv5-1058eo
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I cannot find the specs for this specific unit. The search process proposed in the HP support page gives no other reference than the general service manual for dv5 ( I have tried both the US site and the Swedish site, unit bought in Sweden). I am looking for the specs of the specific motherboard and there are several possibilities listed in the manual (none of which lends itself to the process suggested by the HP support page to find its specs).  I even believe that I can find the actual part number but searching the HP site for this gives no result

Hi:

The HP Part Surfer recommendation that Erico posted will give you the processor information you are looking for...

You can also refer to chapter 1, page 1 of the Maintenance and Service Guide on your notebook's support page for the list of all supported AMD processors...

The specs for the unit are at the following URL.

The simplest way to find out which systemboard is installed  in the notebook is by using CPU-z.  Use the Mainboard tab. Once you have the part number you can use Google to further identify the systemboard.

An alternative means would be by use of the HP PartSurfer website.

Thanks.

1. Your reference is to the specs of a 1095eo, different from 1058eo (?)

2. Cpu-z is a good product. I have used it before but unfortunately my HP has crashed (and I never noted the specs!). I suspect a cpu or motherboard error (no booting and no bios access) due to overheating. This is why I am looking for specs. I have recovered the part # of the motherboard from Internet (but not from HP). I intend to start by replacing the CPU and hence need to know what processors can be used. Is there a way to find out? HP has a very pleasing approach (upgrade the processor) to my problem but it simply does not work with my unit. If you can advise me on how I can find info about the relevant processors I would be very grateful

3. The Google reference does not give specs but a number of useful suppliers

4. The partsurfer gives no info apart from the chip set
