I understand you are looking to upgrade the processor for your HP Pavilion DV5 notebook and you would like to know the list of supported processors for this model. Don't worry I'll try my best to help you with this,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

What is the product number of your product? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

After reviewing your post, I did go through the product specifications and found 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6400 is the processor shipped with the PC.

Here is the list of supported processor for your PC, for more please visit the Maintenance and Service Guide and search under processor: Click here

HP Does not recommend you to upgrade or downgrade of any parts, however, you can do it at your own discretion.

I hope this answers your question, let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help.

The Cpu list that you sent to me sems to be for a different pavil DV5 series because it has a DDR3 support (Mine is DDR2)

and my cpu is "Socket P"

Tray Intel T6400 CPUs have AW80577GG0412MA part number.

Thanks again, I hope that you have enough info to solve my doubt now.
