After replacing a broken screen, keyboard and touch pad was not working. They both work in BIOS, the backlight comes on before Winidows loads but then shuts off at login screen.
Update all drivers, deleted the devices in Device Manager and let the system reinstall
Updated the BIOS
Updated chipset drivers
Ran HP software troubleshooting
Unistalled battery and held power button down to reset CMOS
still both work in BIOS not working in windows

Well in situations like this when a problem arises after work was done to the laptop, most of the time it comes down to something wasn't hooked up quite right in reassembly. Double check all cables, reseat them all to see if that helps.
