Hi my computer is showing charger plugged in but the battery charging light on the side isn't lit up and the battery isn't charging

Why did you not identify your laptop with an HP Part name and product number as requested?

When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key once.
That will open the Windows run dialogue

Type in msinfo32 and press enter.


The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.

The System SKU/Product ID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.

 

 

If the charger/power led is not lit that indicates an issue with the power adapter, dc power in port or the charging circuit on the system board.

 

If you have access to a compatible power adapter, try that as a first step in the troubleshooting process.

 

Can you even boot to Windows any more?
