Hi, I have a problem to charge my notebook.
My HP laptop only charges when it is powered off, the led immediately turns red and the battery charges, the same happens in sleep mode.
When I plug it in when it's turned on, the charging light turns orange and the battery icon says ''plugged in not charging" but after a few seconds the light turns white and the "plugged in not charging" disappears.
If I plug it in and out several times when it's turned on, it works if it finds "the position" to charge.
I have also updated drivers and I use diagnostic Uefi to test dc adapter and battery.
I tried using another original hp power supply on my notebook and used my power supply on another hp but the problem with my pc is the same. I also tested the charger with multimeter and it works.
Sorry for my English and thanks for your help.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is not getting charged when the computer is on.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

If you continue facing the issue, then reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager.
Here is how you do it.
Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”
Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”
Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.
Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”
Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!
Cheers!
