I have a HP 15 ba029ax laptop for more than a year. a few months back, I broke the dc connector and the battery wont charge unless the device Is turned off. I tried to replug repeatedly until it's charging while the device is turned on and somehow It'll work if I got "lucky". Since then I used it that way until someday the battery started acting up, the battery will charge but sometimes it becomes as if I didnt plug the charger at all. I thought the dc port became worse so I decided to replace the broken dc port. But the problem still there after I replaced the dc port a few weeks ago. Sometime its all normal and just charging, But sometimes its acting as if the device isnt plugged in at all. I'm able to run the device on battery but it will die in a minute, and I'm able to run the device using only the adapter (unplugging the battery) without any problem. Anyone have any experince with this? Is the battery broken or is it something worse?
Note : I'm sorry if my english is bad, it's not my first language

Let's reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery
Step 01. Click on the Start Button
Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Note: This Battery driver will get re-installed automatically when you restart the Notebook again
Step 05. Please Shutdown the Notebook
Step 06. Please remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter
Step 07. Press and Hold the Power Button for full 1 Minute
Step 08. Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter
Also update the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
If the Battery is still not charging, run a Battery Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Power > Battery

Thankyou for your answer, @KrazyToad
Sadly the problem still there even after the steps you gave me, with the battery test status is "PASSED".
The battery status keep changing repeatedly in a few seconds interval. its either "Plugged in, charging"
or unplugged with the battery
