HP ProBook 450 G8 Notebook PC IDS Base Model

I'm trying to charge my laptop's battery via usb type-c from a power bank, but it refuses to accept a charge.

The description of the laptop claims PowerDelivery support on the USB type-c port. Laptop power supply 20v 45W.

Powerbank - Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 20000mAh USB-C 50W
Cable - UGREEN US355 USB Type-C to USB Type-C 100W Gen2 5A

Need your help. What's wrong?

Not confirmed.
In fact, the reason was in the powerbank.
I came across a fake that did not support the declared 20 volt mode.
With the replacement of the powerbank with a real one, everything returned to normal.
As a result, my laptop can still charge via type-c from a powerbank.
In any case, thanks for the reply!

Charging power Input at the USB Type-C PD port will be only with compatible USB  Type C smart power adapters.

As far as I am aware, only HP's specific Smart 45 W and 65 W USB Type-C power adapter is compatible and not a third party power bank. If you use something else you may see the incompatible power supply message

Your notebook's Maintenance & Service Guide
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06937055.pdf

The HP Smart Power adapters below are compatible with your notebook (see ch 3 page 23, table 3-4)
45 W. nPFC, USB-C, 3 pin                                                934739-850
45 W, nPFC, USB Type-C, 1.8 m (6 ft), 3. pin               L43407-001
65 W, nPFC, USB-C, 1.8 m (6 ft)                                     L67440-001

Your notebook's SMB bus is not recognizing the third party powerbank as being compatible with your notebook's voltage requirements.

Hey Erico!
Thank you for your answer!
It's a pity. Many laptops from other manufacturers do not have these limitations, and I did not expect such problems with my ProBook450G8. On the net, you can find many cases of successful use of laptops with power banks. I am from Ukraine, and now it is really critical for me to increase the autonomy of my working laptop.
But now I know what to do and how to choose my next laptop 🙂
Thanks again!
