What the best solution for upgrade the core 2 duo processor of the dv2612ca HP notebook? And it is having problems of superheating, what can I do to fix or minimize this in terms of replacing hardware components? Many thanks!

Hi:

 

You may want to make sure the fan and heat sink area are free of dust. 

 

That is usually the most common reason for overheating.

 

Your notebook has the onboard Intel graphics, correct?

 

If you plan on upgrading the processor, then you will have to remove the heat sink and reapply the thermal paste.

 

That may also help the overheating issue as well.

 

If you have the latest BIOS version installed, the best processors you can go to would be the T8100, T8300, T9300, and T9500.

Oh thank you very much. I thought that the T7200 was the maximum upgrade for this model. Yes, my notebook has the onboard Intel graphics. Kind regards

The T7200 is the max for the models with the Mobile Intel 945 chipset.

 

Your model has the Mobile Intel 965 chipset which allows for processors with the 800 MHz FSB to be installed.
