Welcome. Some of the laptops can allow the upgrade of the CPU, some cannot. Please post the complete model number of the laptop. If you are not sure or cannot find it, while in the forum - look at the top of the page. Hover the pointer on the "Support" heading. Slide the pointer down to "Support & troubleshooting" and click on that topic. The next page that opens will be the support site in the region you are logged into. Scroll down to the area where it asks for the model number or "Or "let HP detect your model number" When picking the "Let HP detect your model number" it will load some software before it can identify the model and then it will be able to give you the model info. You can then post that info here or look for the answer to your question yourself by picking the "Manuals" heading

Thanks. That is a good model number. From what I have been able to find out, that model is one where the CPU cannot be changed out. It is attached to the motherboard.
