I can't screen print on my laptop.  I've tried every combination of prt sc, Winkey, alt and fn and nothing is working.  I've even set the option in settings to open snip with prt sc, still nothing.  Any thoughts?  I'm not sure whether this has ever worked, it's not a function I use often

I reviewed your post and I understand that the print screen key is not working on the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the product number of your computer?

Are you using the print screen function in any software or application? (Like the Word, Excel)

You can press the print screen key directly to take a snap of the screen and in some HP computers, you need to press and hold the FN key and press the print screen key.

Meanwhile, I recommend you uninstall the keyboard driver from the device manager and then restart your computer and check if it helps.

Here is how it is done.

  1. Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

@The_Fossette.   Uninstalling the keyboard isn't really an option as it's the built in keyboard on the laptop.  However yesterday I purchased a wireless keyboard and the prt sc function works fine from that so I think it might be a hardware issue on the laptop - which means I've logged this in the wrong forum.  Do you know if I can change the forum or whether I need to log the same issue in the hardware forum?
