Hi, looking to upgrade  "HP Probook 450 G7" to max RAM possible.

Not sure if this matters but it's the "Intel Core i5-10210U" processor version.

HP's support site officially says 32GB is the maximum of RAM that can be installed.   More specifically, from the configurations listed... it includes (2x) 16GB chips to reach 32GB, but does not list installing a single 32GB chip as a supported configuration.

That being said, online memory  calculators indicate that this machine could be upgraded to 64GB or in other words,  each slot can accept a single 32GB chip.

Would anyone be able to confirm whether the slots would accept 32GB chips?

Appreciate any help!

Hi:

I don't know of anyone that installed 64 GB of memory in that model.

You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

If the report indicates 32 GB, that would be 2 x 16 GB.

If it reports 64 GB, that would be 2 x 32 GB.
