Recently my "prt sc" button stopped taking screenshots. Previously the laptop would take a screenshot by just pressing the "prt sc" bitton, a little notification would appear bottom right hand corner that it was taken and saved. I can hold the windows button and press the "prt sc" button and it will take the screenshot, but I'm trying to figure out how to get back the single button operation...?
your support page is not helpful

Hello @fnlinda143,
From my understanding, simply pressing Prt Sc will save it to the Windows clipboard. You can then paste it into something like MS Paint or MS Word.
Win key + Prt Sc will save it in C:\Users\"Username"\Pictures\Screenshots
Let me know if this helps.
Kind regards,
Eddy

It may have been saving the screenshots automatically to OneDrive and the setting has gotten changed someway. If you have OneDrive icon in system tray near the time right click and look at the Settings. On the Autosave tab it should have a place to check/select "Automatically save screenshots to Onedrive".

Yup, that was it in my case. Turns out, now that I connect the dots from yesterday, a number of things went wacko after a windows 10 update. One of them was a reset of my microsoft password (which I only consciously use for my email.) Apparently the update also logged me out of one drive without me realizing, and after clicking the one drive icon, it prompted a log in with my new password. Voila! Prt Sc works with one click letting me know my screen shot was saved. As before.

There is setting in windows to solve this, Follow below steps..
Go to settings--> Ease of Access --> Keyboard --> Select Use Prtscn Button to open screen snipping.
or you can use windows + Print Screen or may be Fn+Win+PrtScn to direct save your screen shot in Picture folder.
