There is an issue with the keyboard on the HP omen! HP needs to adress this!
Soon after purchasing my laptop I noticed ghosting of the 'r'-key during gaming. Fast-forward 2 years later and my 'r'-key completely stopped working.
The laptop works fine if I attach another keyboard through usb.
This is a problem that a lot of people have!
Check the following reddit thread and comments:

As stated, HP knows about this problem but it will either tell you to perform a BIOS update, which doesn't help, or they will replace your keyboard which is only a temporary fix before the problem returns...
I've been carefull with my laptop at all times, and the problem persisted very soon after I bought it. Unfortunately, now that I found out that this is a general issue with the omen laptops, it's too late for me... My warranty has expired and I doubt HP will help me. However I hope this reaches some people with the same issue as I have, and it helps them.
Good luck!
And HP, please fix this!
Problems like this are excusable, bad customer support is not...
If I don't receive adequate support this will be my last HP product.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to complete a functional test of the keyboard and identify any problems with the hardware.
-
Download the latest version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
-
In Windows, search for and right-click HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows, and then select Run as administrator.
-
Click Component Tests, click Input Devices, and then select the Keyboard Test.
-
Click Run once to begin the test.
The test ends when you complete the tasks or after 3 minutes.
For more information about using the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows, go to HP PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I don't want to sound rude but this was useless... If you would've checked the links that I posted you would've seen that this is the standard response all the other people got as well... I tried it anyway, and all it showed me was that indeed my 'r'-key is not working!
Just please help. Find a fix to the problem, there is something wrong with these laptops and/or keyboards!!

Thank you for posting back.
That must be hard!
However, please perform the keyboard test in order to isolate the issue, if it's a software-related issue we can fix it by performing steps.
If it's a hardware related issue then your computer needs to be serviced.
Keep me posted!
