hi i recently upgraded my hp probook 450 G0's ram from 4gb to 16gb. the ram that was in the laptop was 4gb, 1600mhz sk hynix and i put 2 8gb 1600mhz arktek ram modules. the problem is that the speed is running at 800mhz on both the ram that cam with the laptop and the ram i put. i tried looking in bios to chamge the speed and theres nothing, how do i get it to run at 1600 mhz

Hi:

 

You have to multiply the clock speed by 2 when you install matching capacities of memory.

 

800 MHz x 2 = 1600 MHz.

 

If you run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below, it will show you that the memory speed is 800 MHz but that it is running in dual channel mode.

 

If it was running in single channel mode, then the 800 MHz speed would be correct.

 

Every PC in the world reports the memory speed like that.
