HP Notebook - 15q-dy0004au
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, currently I have Samsung M471A5244CB0-CTD 1x4GB. I need to upgrade it to 8gb dual channel. I have found a ram from crucial will it be compatiable with the current ram.

This samsung ram has high density 4 blocks. So how can I know the other ram has high density 4 blocks by looking at the specification. There are x16 and x8 based 512Meg x 64 ram from crucial what does this mean. Is this denote 4 blocks. Can you suggest one from crucial.

If you need to upgrade to 8 GB dual channel, replace the original memory module with a pair of identical compatible  4GB memory modules.

Otherwise, you will need to purchase a module that is absolutely identical to the Samsung M471A5244CB0-CTD 1x4GB module that is installed. The modules are available in Europe. I am unaware of their availability in India. Do a web search like the one I did at the link below.

https://www.google.nl/search?q=Samsung+M471A5244CB0-CTD+1x4GB&oq=Samsung+M471A5244CB0-CTD+1x4GB&aqs=...

The link you provided shows that Crucial guarantees its compatibility. It is a good choice. I have never had any issue with modules from Crucial Memory. I would purchase a pair and install them. They will operate as expected.

Sorry I can't replace the memory , Only thing I can do is add another 4 gb , so can you please tell me the answer to the question.

Perhaps you have not read my reply completely.

Use a search engine to find an identical module.

Otherwise you are looking at a no-boot or one module only being recognized scenario.

It is your choice.

Also what is the B,R,S stand for in AD4S2400J4G17-B

ADATA is not very forthcoming in providing compatibility with notebooks.

I suggest that you ask ADATA what it means. Every company has their own codes for the letters after the main part number.
