I did a RAM upgrade from 8 GB to 16 GB on my Pavilion 15 cc5xx. I have two problems:
1. In System Information (Windows 10), the Installed Physical Memory shows as 16 GB, but the Available Physical Memory only shows as 8.8 GB. I've gone into msconfig and cleared the maximum memory and rebooted, but it didn't help.
2. The battery was perfect before, but now is stuck at 26%. It won't go higher.
Can anyone suggest what to do?
Thanks!

I hadn't realized that the "Available Physical Memory" reflected the RAM in use. That number goes up and down depending on what's happening on your computer at any given moment. The "Installed" versus "Total" are correctly showing 16 GB. So I am fine.
Regarding the battery, it did indeed stick at 26% while I used the computer that day, but at some point I shut it down overnight, and by the next morning, it was fine.
As it turns out, I didn't actually have a problem.
Thanks anyway!

It sounds as if you may have tried upgrading by adding memory to that which was already present. That frequently produces issues. There is nothing that you can change in msconfig that will resolve the memory upgrade issue. Upgrade by installing guaranteed compatible memory modules in place of what

This is a separate issue that is unrelated to a change of memory modules. Try invoking the Windows Battery Report to see what the root cause of this issue is.
