I wanted to upgrade RAM for my laptop 15-n208tu

At present I have 4 GB in one slot, I want to add 8GB in another slot, I learned from HP Support that I can add 8 GB  and Maximum of total 12 GB is supported. 

Present memory module 4GB, 1.35v, DDR3-1600 SODIMM memory module number is 691740-001 

Dimension : 8.1 X 4.6 X 0.8 cm

 

Can any one hlep me to know the memory module number for 8GB with same speficifications to that of existing 4GB (1.35v, DDR3-1600 SODIMM)

Hi,

Even though the service manual states that 12GB is the max, your system will run with 16GB of DDR3L 1600Mhz RAM (2x8GB)

 

You can add another 8GB in the empty slot for a total of 12GB. You can buy RAM from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsung...

So what you need is 8GB DDR3L 1600Mhz RAM.

The part number of the module by HP is 693374-001

memory slot dimension in lptop is 68 mm X 30 mm, thickness I could not measure 

 

this module has different dimension than the slot. 

 

I found one module KCP3L16SD8/8  of kingston with dimension 69mm X 30mm X 3 mm can i try to use this one not sure if this fits

 

Please advice.
