Hi:

Run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below and see if it gives you the memory part number and description for the module in your notebook has.  It should also give you the number of ranks.

Then buy the compatible crucial memory chip the best matches the specs.

Here is a screenshot of the report run on my HP 8200 Elite desktop PC...

There is a module part number report, which shows the memory part number...

Module Part Number: PSD38G13332

There is a number of Ranks report...

Number Of Ranks: 2

wooow really thanks for that tool, mine one is single rank, I got another guestion as in the tool showing the speed 2666 mhz and in my task manager showing 2400mhz, a bit confused now.

I went on crucial web site and found ram memories compatible with my machine as both speeds are good to go. see the links with tech specs, also i sending you snapshot of the manual what is recomended, could you please advise me which type of ram would go for? Many thanks for your help.

You're very welcome.

I would get the 2666 MHz chip because that is what HP installed in your notebook.

The reason it only runs at 2400 MHz is because I presume that is the fastest speed the amd chipset/processor can run the memory at.

The specs for your notebook indicate that the memory speed is 2400 MHz, so there isn't a problem with the 2666 MHz memory running at 2400 MHz.

you are star, really thanks for your help. The last thing as my motherboard got a two slots for the RAM memory, is that mean i a dual channel? Also once i take out the current memory sticks and will gonna replace with a new ones which slot should i start first from?

HP Recommended

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

The memory will run in dual channel mode like it is now, but you will have twice as much.

It doesn't matter which memory slot you start with first.

Since you have to take both of them out, you will be putting two chips back in, and both slots will be occupied.

Below is the link to the service manual...that will help you with opening up the notebook and replacing the memory.
