Hello, I am currently in the process of upgrading my laptop by purchasing new RAM. However, I am unsure about the specific type of RAM compatible with my HP 14s-dq2223ne . All I know is that DDR4 16GB with a clock speed of 3200MHz is recommended, and I currently have 8GB installed in one of the slots.

Hi:

There are several variations of HP 14-2000 notebooks.

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

Use this guide to find that information:

Your notebook has two memory slots and according to chapter 1 of the maintenance and service guide, can support 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

HP Laptop PC 14s-dq2000 - Setup and User Guides | HP® Support

If you want to see if more than 2 x 8 GB of memory is supported in your notebook, you can run this command:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Recommended 16 GB memory chip (if the Windows report indicates you can install 2 x 16 GB of memory):

Recommended 8 GB memory chip:
