Hi,

The part number for the battery you need is 920070-856

You can perform an online search with part number and find an original or compatible part

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=920070-856&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

On page 35 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the battery

Hello, I also have an HP Pavilion x360 14-cd1055cl. I'm just curious, the battery site you suggested says for the "15" series. I am hoping the 14 and 15 series are interchangeable. It's odd that I cannot find a battery on Amazon that states specifically it is for the "14-cd1055cl." Thank You.

Yes, they use the same battery.

The   TF03XL  battery

You can see in the service manual I linked to you.

Hope it helps,

Hi Lomare, thank you so much for that assistance. I have an extended warranty through Costco, so last night I called for service with a complaint of short battery life. Occasionally I would be on battery and it would show 100% charge, and after a few hours the laptop will suddenly shut off when it still shows like 20 plus % charge. And when I plug the laptop in and restart, it sometimes comes up with a black screen that shows a "critical battery" alert saying the battery needs to be replaced.

So last night the technician had me do a battery power only hard reset on my HP Pavilion x360 14-cd1055cl. The laptop started back up with 100% battery life and 3 hours later, when the laptop showed 23% power level, it suddenly turned off. The laptop had just completed uploading some files to Google Drive. So my concern is that it turns off abruptly with no warning about low battery, etc.

Costco service said they may replace the battery under warranty if it is not functioning properly. What do you think?

Warm Regards,

Alan Kirk

Well, Alan,

If they can replace it for free I guess it would be great 😀

I would replace the battery with a quality one.

How old is the PC?

regards,

David
