Hi 

 

Wanted to check if anyone has a recommendation to fix this. My original HP battery needed replacing as a warning came up it has low capacity. I have tried a few different generic LK03XL batteries as HP no longer sells the official ones. None of them are recognized by my laptop. I have followed all the instructions suggested for battery.  Initially I thought I bought a dud battery, returned it and got a replacement and same thing. Tried a different supplier and got another battery and same thing.

 

The current battery I replaced is HP battery - LK03XL, L09281-855

11.55v -- 52.5 wh, 4550mAh

 

the battery test fails but says 100% charge. If I take out power cord after starting, it uses the battery and doesn't shutdown so its getting power however its not able to start the laptop without the AC plugged then I can take it out.

 

I have reset my bios that didnt help, I have also updated specific bios from HP driver site and this has not helped. I am stumped what else to try. 

 

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your suggestions.

I have bought batteries from Ebay and Amazon that say they fit my laptop, which they do but as they are generic its causing this problem.

Partsurfer dont have that battery available to order - says not available.

Newegg dont deliver to UK,

so my best option is looking for an original HP battery somewhere but dont think it will be brand new.

Its strange that HP discontinued them, you spend all this money on a good laptop but when the battery needs replacing it causes you so many issues.  I may contact them and see if they have an official 3rd party supplier in the UK
