my product number is=1TJ81UA#ABA
serial number is=[edit]
my dvd writer will not write to dvds it will burn cds and yes i tried using different media types and brands and manufacturers
always get power calibration error
it can read any disc type
i recently removed the drive from my notebook and tested it in a friends acer laptop same error
i cant seem to find the drive for sale on HPs site at all i want to know how much it would be to buy????
and no my warranty expired on 1/12/2019 so cant go that route

Here is the Service Manual:
You have a 9mm tray load DVD writer and this is the replacement part number:
(17) Optical drive (DVD+/-RW Double-Layer SuperMulti) 920417-008
Pages 36-38 of the Manual show how to remove the optical drive. Very easy customer authorized procedure.
