Prior posts described problem with rubber traction strips on the bottom of the laptop. I replaced them 3 times, and they still comes off. It is useless to order more and waste time and money. It is a flawed design which is too bad. The strips are very useful for actually working with the laptop on any smooth or inclined surface.
HP needs to come up with a design that makes the strips permanent.
In the meantime, use one of the other suggestions to glue the strips on for yourself. Rubber cement was one suggestion that I am going to try, perhaps other glues. Keep the strips you have and work with them, or give up. Replacements are useless.

I have also tried this product (two-sided tape) that I ordered from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00161UQOC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It has only been a week since I used it but the rubber strip is still staying fixed in place.
