Product: HP Notebook - 17-ak010ds

When closing the lid, there is a "crunch" sound.  Upon inspection, it looks like the ribbits have broken off the inside of lid cover. 

 

With all the hinge issues on the community, HP has suggested the Hinges be replaced.  It seems to be multidimensional problem.  Or just bad engineering. 

 

How to repair so no further issues?

I understand that this is a Hardware issue. However, the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. Since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who can schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.

 

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.
