@chadblaire, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Some HP laptops have a Kensington Nano slot, for which the correct lock is a Kensington Nanosaver or the HP-branded version of that lock, which one did you get?
Here's a related post that may be of use, check this out and let me know if you need anything else-https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Lock-Slot-Compatibilty/m-p/678...

According to HPs specs on a Omen 17 an100, it is a regular Kensington slot. I believe you cannot put a regular Kensington lock into a nano slot. I have a regular Kensington Microsaver cable lock (BV-CL-01 model). I believe it is a defective HP case.
I went to local computer shop and the cable works in all the other laptops. They did not carry nano (or any) cables lock so I could not test other cables. You cannot put a microsaver lock in a nano slot, right?
Here is spec from user manual for a 17t an188nr. "Security management: Kensington MicroSaver® lock slot"
Can't find a AN100 version of the specs/manual.
You tell me what kind of lock I need, HP employee.
