Dear all,
I am seeking for a BIOS download for a Pavilion dv9500 that we want to donate for a school kid for home schooling.
Trying to put it at least to a stable level, wondering if a BIOS update might help to get it running with SSD, which is currently not recognized.
I understand this 9500 is pretty **bleep**ty laptop, but maybe it is good for some simple tasks for a kid instead of using a tiny smartphone display.
Thanks for your help in advance!
Cheers Lars

Hi, Lars:
What processor does it have? Intel or AMD. They use different BIOS updates.
If it is an AMD, SSD's usually don't work on those.
Once you let me know that info, I will post the link to the last BIOS update HP released for it.
Also if it is an AMD processor, you can only update the BIOS in Vista, or the notebook will only be good to use as a paperweight.

Hi Paul,
Thank you very much for the quick response and helping me.
Unfortunately it is an AMD processor and windows 10 running, so it is what it is and we cannot update this piece of crap.
Thanks also for the heads up, this explains why they removed it from their support pages I guess.
Best regards
Lars

You're very welcome, Lars.
You can't find any support for that model because HP retired support for the dv9000 model series since it is over 10 years old.
That model series only had driver support for XP and Vista, and I think the dv9500 model series only had driver support for Vista.
If you have a way to reinstall Windows Vista, I will give you the links to the BIOS update files.
Otherwise, there is no point in giving them to you.

Good morning Paul,
in the meanwhile I installed Windows Vista on the dv9500.
If you dont mind and (hopefully) read my response, could you be so kind and please send me a link to the latest BIOS?
Thank you very much in advance and best regards
Lars
