i recently added another 4gb ddr3 ram in my laptop which has 1600 mhz speed but vin task manager it still shows 800mhz speed....so please anyone tell me how can i set it to maximum speed

Hi:

 

If you look at chapter 1 of the service manual, the notebooks that use DDR3L-1600 memory only run the memory in single channel mode--even with two memory chips installed.

 

So, the 800 MHz reported speed is correct.

Two non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots
DDR3L-1600 single channel support

 

Even if the notebook ran the memory in dual channel mode, the speed would still only show 800 MHz

 

When the memory is running in dual channel mode you multiply the 800 x 2 and that is how you get the 1600 MHz speed.

 

You can run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below and it will show you how the memory is running (in single or dual channel mode).
