I would like to upgrade my laptop hard drive to an SSD hard drive. I hardly use the laptop, but i hate the fact that when i go to use it boots really slow and it doesn't perform all that fast. HP 15-cs3073-cl

Hi:

Looking at the specs for your notebook, with an Intel 10th generation i7 core processor and 16 GB of memory, and the fast-performing Intel AX200 Wi-Fi card, it should be running pretty well.

I'm surprised that HP installed a slow-poke 5,400 RPM mechanical hard drive in that build.

You can speed the drive performance considerably by installing a M.2 NVMe SSD in the available M.2 slot, and you can either remove the hard drive to save battery power and reduce heat, or you can use it for additional storage.

I recommend the Samsung 980 (not 980 Pro) or the Western Digital Blue SN570 in a storage capacity that meets your needs and budget.

HP only has the service manual for the older 15-cs2xxx model series on your notebook's support page, but it should be of help to you for opening up the notebook to work inside of it.
