sm-bus controller in device manager: driver unknown, not recognized

Hello!

How to fix the driver problem? HP`s automatic update for drivers does not see this problem

HP answers that there is no update necessary I do not see the software/driver  for this sm-bus controller.

Anyone here who knows? Notebook is OK, but I will fix it

Best regards from Germany,

Dirk

Hi, Dirk:

For some reason that I could never understand, HP does not include the AMD chipset drivers on the support pages for their notebooks, but they include the Intel chipset drivers on the Intel notebook's support pages.

Download and install the W10 64 bit AMD chipset driver from the link below and restart the PC.

That should install the smbus controller.

Thank you!!!A lesson to learn about AMD and HP

I fixed the problem by using Windows Updates using alternative /optional updates and there "drivers" just a few minutes ago.

Normally I use Intel but this notebook with AMD  CPUs has been a "gift" cause the screws of one hinge was broken ( how to do that?) and I fixed it with some nylon screws, didn´t want to buy sparepartsJust a loe expansive notebook for the kitchen 🙂

Kind regards Paul,
