Hi @rlavanya0459,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If some keys on your HP laptop keyboard aren’t working, here are a few steps you can try.

Check for Physical Issues:

  • Ensure there’s no debris or dirt under the keys. You can use compressed air to clean around the affected keys.
  • If any keys appear to be sticking or not pressing properly, gently press around the area to see if they loosen up.

Restart Your Laptop:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can fix keyboard issues.

Update Keyboard Driver:

  • Go to Device Manager (you can search for it in the Windows search bar).
  • Expand the Keyboards section.
  • Right-click on your keyboard device and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Check Keyboard Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard.
  • Make sure that all keyboard settings are correctly configured.

Test in Safe Mode:

  • Boot your laptop into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is related to software or drivers.

Perform a System Scan:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command sfc /scannow. This will scan for and attempt to repair any corrupted system files.

Use an External Keyboard:

  • Connect an external USB keyboard to see if the issue is with the laptop’s internal keyboard or a more general software problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
