@Jairobe, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check for Physical Damage or Obstructions

Inspect the affected keys closely for any visible debris, dust, or physical damage.

Use compressed air to blow under the keys.

Gently press each of the affected keys multiple times to see if they are physically stuck or feel different from the others.

Test in BIOS or UEFI

To rule out a software issue:

Restart your laptop.

Press Esc or F10 repeatedly as it boots to enter BIOS or UEFI setup.

Try typing in any input field (if available), or simply check if the keyboard responds (some BIOS setups allow entering text in fields).

If the same keys do not work in BIOS, this is almost certainly a hardware problem.

Use an External USB Keyboard

Plug in a USB or Bluetooth keyboard.

If the external keyboard works fine (especially the p, ü, ä, ö, and 0 keys), then your built-in keyboard is likely faulty.

If the issue persists even with an external keyboard, then it's more likely a software/driver issue.

Check Device Manager and Update Drivers

Press Win + X > Select Device Manager.

Expand the Keyboards section.

Right-click your keyboard device > Choose Update driver.

If no update is found, you can try uninstalling the keyboard device, then restart your laptop – Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

Also, consider updating your BIOS and drivers via
HP Support Assistant or manually at HP Drivers & Software.

Keyboard Layout & Language Settings (Double-Check)

Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region.

Ensure German (Germany) is added.

Click on the German language > Options > Make sure the German QWERTZ layout is installed.

Remove other layouts temporarily to avoid conflicts.

On-Screen Keyboard Test

Open Start Menu > Type and open On-Screen Keyboard (osk.exe).

Try typing the affected letters.

If they work here, it further confirms a hardware fault in the built-in keyboard.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
