Hi @tim2331,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the USB ports on the left side of your HP Envy X360 Convertible are not working, there are several potential reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem.

Check for Physical Damage:

  • Inspect the USB ports on the left side for any physical damage, such as bent pins or debris. If you see any issues, you may need to have the laptop repaired by a professional.

Device Manager:

  • Open the Device Manager on your laptop.
  • Look for the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section.
  • Check if there are any warning symbols (yellow triangles) next to USB devices. If so, there may be a driver issue.

Driver Update:

  • Right-click on the USB device with the warning symbol and select "Update driver."
  • Choose the option to search for updated driver software automatically.

Reboot the Laptop:

  • Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve USB connectivity issues.

BIOS/UEFI Update:

  • Check the HP support website for your laptop model to see if there are any BIOS/UEFI updates available. Sometimes, firmware updates can address hardware issues.

Power Management:

  • In the Device Manager, right-click on the USB root hubs, go to the "Power Management" tab, and uncheck the option that allows the computer to turn off the device to save power.

System Restore:

  • If the issue started recently, you can try restoring your system to a previous point when the USB ports were working.

Hardware Issue:

  • If none of the software solutions work, there may be a hardware problem.

Remember to back up your important data before attempting any significant changes to your system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
