Hi, the space bar in my physical keyboard is not working. It sometimes does but most of the time it just won't respond or one press will add too many spaces. I tried updating, reformatting, resetting, turned off the filter and sticky keys still none of them works. I want to try rolling back the keyboard driver but it is grayed out. It says that I can download the driver of an earlier version from the manufacturer's website but I can't seem to find the website or a downloadable link for it.
I have HID Keyboard device and Standard PS/2 keyboard. Both shows Standard Keyboard in the Manufacturer and their Driver Version is 10.0.18362.1 Driver Date:21/06/2006.

This is not a driver issue -- so trying to download that is wasting your time.
Here's some troubleshooting steps you can try: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03738933
If the laptop keyboard simply does not work, then you will have to plug in an external keyboard and see if you can run the tests using that.
If you are experienced at laptop repairs, you can often replace a keyboard for $25 for a new one and a half-hours work. I have done this on older HP laptops.
But, if you're NOT, there is a serious risk of breaking fragile connectors and cables doing this -- so I do not recommend it.
Instead, I would recommend you hunting down a local laptop repair place to have THEM replace the keyboard. Sometimes, on some models, you have to replace the entire top surface of the laptop, not just the keyboard. So you should get an estimate of what is involved before you have the work done.

Thank you for your response.
I tried the troubleshooting from the link, still none of them fixed my problem with the space bar. The space bar works fine when I connect an external keyboard.
Guess I'll need to have the keyboard hardware changed soon. In the meantime, I'm using the external and the touch keyboard.
