Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

can i replace hdd with ssd in compaq nc6000? or is it easier to use a thumb drive?

You say sd6000 in the title and then nc6000 in the body of the question. If it is an nc6000 laptop that is very very old. However, it can be set to native SATA mode for the hard drive and will work with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD in place of the mechanical hard drive.

Oops, I should  have checked the spelling - apologies!

Yes of course it's the nc6000.

Yes it's very old, but is exclusively used off line for vehicle diagnostics.
