I bought an M.2 SSD for my laptop, but upon checking, I found that the M.2 slot is already occupied, while the 2.5-inch SATA slot is empty. Currently, the existing SSD is connected to the SATA slot with an adapter. If I connect the currently installed SSD to the 2.5-inch SATA slot using the adapter and install the new SSD in the vacant M.2 slot, will it work in the same way? I want it to function without any changes, and I also want the newly purchased SSD to appear as additional storage. If I attach the M.2 SSD with Windows installed on it to the 2.5-inch SATA slot using the adapter, would there be any issues or file loss? And will it work? I need to find out if it will work the same way without formatting, as I cannot afford to format the computer due to important files that I cannot transfer or lose.

Yes that is a 2 TB NVME M.2 SSD. There is no way to put that in the slot on p. 30 and put the original M.2 SSD inside the laptop in the bay on p. 33. There is no adapter capable of doing that.

You could get an external USB to NVME M.2 adapter and clone the original M.2 SSD to the new larger SSD.

If I were you I would be reluctant to to get rid of the 2 TB M.2 NVME SSD.

Your description does not quite add up. Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

Using the picture on p. 33 of the Manual what drives do you have and where are they and how are they connected? What is the M.2 SSD you bought and want to install? The specs for your model:

Only mention a 512 gig NVME M.2 SSD which I assume is plugged into the M.2 slot. The original M.2 NVME SSD cannot work through any type of SATA connection; only the M.2 slot. So if you want to keep the current operating system, apps and files you need to keep the M.2 SSD where it is. If you want to add storage, you would need a 2.5 inch SATA SSD but I am confused if you have the mounting hardware for that?

I thought the slot on page 33 was occupied, and the slot on page 30 was empty, so I purchased an M.2 SSD (Kingston SNV2S/2000G) to fit into it. However, upon checking inside my computer now, I see that the slot on page 30 is actually occupied. The M.2 SSD I bought does not fit into the slot on page 33, so I intended to use an adapter. However, from what I understand based on what you said, it seems that preserving my files in this way is not possible.
