Thanks, good to know it supports Nvme

i am going to use wd black SN 750 nvme ssd  for it.

Is there anything else i should check before buying ssd.

You're very welcome.

As far as installing the SSD, no.

It should just be plug and play.

A WD Black 750 is a great choice.

While you have the notebook apart, you may want to consider adding another 4 or 8 GB memory chip in there.

4 GB nowadays is barely adequate to run W10 64 bit.

Thanks, i already have 8 GB of RAM. You are right, its necessary to have al least 8 GB of RAM. They have made window 10 bulky after updates.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Please post back and let us now how your notebook's hardware upgrade project went.

hey, i inserterd the ssd in laptop. Now i have hard disk + m.2 ssd. How can i migrate the OS into ssd ?

I went to a computer shop. He said he will install fresh window in ssd. But he will install cracked version of Window 10 which is available in market. But my laptop has inbuilt original window. So, what should i do now. If i install cracked version of window , will i be able to activate it later.

also, i have made a recovery pendrive of window 10 from HP cloud recovery.

But i dont know what to do with it.

And i have taken backup of all my data. So i am ready to format the original hard disk. No issues

Hi:

if you disconnect the 2.5" drive, you can boot from the cloud recovery tool installation media you made, and it should install W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook on your new SSD.

Here is an info link for how to use the cloud recovery tool...

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7) | HP® Customer Support

You have to disconnect the 2.5" drive or the tool will reinstall W10 on the 2.5" drive and not the SSD.

I cant remove my hard disk. is there any other way ?

You can try a free disk cloning program like Macrium Reflect.

Macrium Software | Reflect Free Edition

The only thing I don't know is if it will clone a larger storage capacity disk to a smaller storage capacity disk.

Select the download under the Backup at Home section.  Reflect 7 Free
