Pavilion 17-f050NG
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I had bought a WD SSD to clone and replace the HDD after reading the answers to my post: Is ssd upgrade for HP Pavilion 17-f050NG possible?. That project failed first due to problems with the software to clone the HDD. The software could not identify the WD SSD and refused to do the job. After some meetings with support (Acronis + Western Digital) I sent the SSD back.

Then I bought a Seagate SSD. This time the Acronis Software did the job well and I produced a clone of the HDD this afternoon. This ran relatively smooth - with only one report about the driver for HPQ0007 missing, which I ignored. Then I exchanged the disks and started the notebook again. After some automatic driver installations Windows 7 started again. I had to provide again the password for WLAN to connect and mostly everything ran again, now much faster.

But one problem remains. The Sound does not work any more. no sound.jpg

I let the system look for appropriate drivers. It reported to me the drivers are already in place and actual. I checked twice the connection between the motherboard and the peripheral. Everything is fixed and in place. But the sound remains still off.

A second problem is that hp support assistant does not run any more, even after removal and new installation.

Does anybody know, what could have happened to the sound and the assistant?

Hi Banhien,

thank you for your kind answer.

On execution of the recommended download my system told me that a newer version of the software QLB is already installed and would need to be removed previously. So I stopped the procedure. I remembered to install sp49456.exe and sp56929.exe some years before.

By the way this was not a problem for me but a note by the cloning software only, which I ignored, since I knew I could install again later. But this was not necessary. I assume those QLBs to be the functions that are second functions on the F1...F12-keys. Those are still working. Only the bars for loudness of sound are frozen now while they appear on the screen by pressing F7 or F8.

Unfortunately my problems are still not solved.
