15t-bs000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to upgrade the SSD on my laptop: 15t-bs000. The Crucial website cannot confirm that their SSD is compatible with my laptop.

The current SSD on my laptop is: SanDisk SD8SN8U-128G-1006 (SSD)

I am looking at

1. Crucial MX 500 M.2 SATA SSD.

https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX500-500GB-2280SS-Internal/dp/B077SQ8J1V

2. Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD - CT500MX500SSD1

https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX500-500GB-NAND-Internal/dp/B0786QNS9B

Is either one of these compatible with my laptop? The first one has the M.2 connection type, which is the SSD I have on the laptop currently.

If the second SSD is compatible, I would have to use an appropriate adapter cable for the M.2 connector, since it 2.5 inch Drive with a different connector. Can you suggest the right adapter cable?

Thanks!

Hi:

If your notebook currently has a 128 GB M.2 SSD, the first one you listed would work.

https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX500-500GB-2280SS-Internal/dp/B077SQ8J1V

You don't want to go through the hassle and expense of buying parts to add so it will fit a 2.5" SSD.

You may not even be able to find them for sale.

Crucial MX 500 M.2 SATA SSD.

The above worked as Paul suggested.

The clone using the free version of Acronis True Image for Crucial, using normal settings, failed and I had to resort to the boot option described below to get it to work.
