Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

OK.

Turn the laptop off again, leave the power adapter unplugged but have the power connector plug ready to use.

Power on the laptop and press Esc and then F10 in the menu that appears.

Now you can plug the power adapter back in.

Does the laptop charge while you are in the BIOS?

You can exit BIOS without making any changes by pressing the F10 key and selecting exit without changes.

Is there something I can press to see if it's charging, also just to be clear, so I don't misslead you, the little light by charging port is on,so power is going to the laptop, also it's says charging, but it's not charging.

HP Recommended

I checked the % before entering the bios, and when I came out,it was not charging, the % is lower

The power led will be on.

That should indicate that it is charging and providing power to the laptop.

If the power LED is off, power from the battery is powering the laptop.

You are going to need warranty service on your laptop.

Have you registered your laptop?

If not, after it charges up about 20-30 minutes, it would be a good time to do that.

Here is the link to register the laptop, just in case you need it.

To get the product number, while logged into Windows, press the Fn+ Esc keys and release them.

A system information window should pop up. The second line should be the product number.

The issue is either a BIOS or a system board issue.
