No matter what i do, i can't seem to free up any space on my laptop! ive tried adding an external hard drive which i can't seem to set up apparently and an SD card for memory which i can't figure out how to set up either or move items to or at least not properly. and i've tried using a flash drive which again...can't figure out. like what do i do and how???? PLEASE HELP THIS IS DRIVING ME INSANE

If you're trying to free up space to install Windows Updates, then @banhien is correct and you need to read through the thread that he linked for you -- as a lot is involved in that.
But, if all you want to do is free us some disk space, here are some things you can do:
