Hi, does anyone know the thickness of the thermal pads in this laptop?

Hi@Athfmaximus, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The existing padding is going to be 3mm and if you replace with 1.5 mm the fit will not be optimal. Of course, no reason you cannot stack two thicknesses to make it fit. I have not seen the need to replace thermal pads, just thermal paste where metal makes contact to metal, but some people want to do everything possible which I appreciate.

Please find the Maintenance and Service Guide for more help,

Opening the notebook and upgrading it will not violate the warranty unless you damage something.    You need to be able to return the notebook to its original hardware configuration in the case of any required warranty repair.

Keep me posted. Happy to help!
