My Touchpad in the laptop is not functioning. From "System Setting - Bluetooth", I cannot see the setting available to turn on the touchpad.

 

From "Device Manager", the Synaptics TPFHID is up-to-date but is hidden. Also it is mentioned in device status: Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) 

 

I have restarted the laptop few times without success. It only works with the mouse attached.

 

What needs to be done to recover the touchpad for usage?

I reinstalled an older driver for the touchpad, and that fixed it.
