my touchpad outer covering is peeling off and the size of the area without a over is about 2cm by 2.5cm at this point and the uncovered area works as a touchpad but only moves a small distance on the screen compared to the other areas which are more sensitive. can i send it to be repaired by the removal of the current coating and the addition of a new coating. is there a coating that i can buy to add to the touchpad. my warrenty expired. i bought the pc about 2 years ago. i don't want to change the touchpad because it still works.

That is caused by oils from the tips of your finger.
"can i send it to be repaired by the removal of the current coating and the addition of a new coating. "
The touchpad would need to be replaced in order to resolve that.
That is the way HP would resolve it and also probably most people who feel they have the need would resolve it.
