Exactly the same problem here, only a different laptop (HP Omen 15-5000ng) .

When the lid is opened (or even only touched from the back or at the edge), the touch screen goes absolutely crazy, even worse than in  SangM's video.

Thanks for a meaningful reply how this can be resolved for good.

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that you are getting touchscreen screen issues on your computer. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

  • When did this issue start?
  • Did you do any hardware or software changed recently?
  • Which operating system is installed on the computer?

Meanwhile:

If you have installed windows 10 or 8.

Perform a touch screen diagnostic test in HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.

  • Plug the AC adapter into the computer.
  • Press the Power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  • Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
  • When the HP PC Hardware Diagnostic UEFI screen displays, click Component Tests.
  • Click Touch Screen.
  • There are two interactive touch screen hardware tests. Start by clicking Touch Pointer Test.
  • Read the on-screen instructions, then click Run once.

Click here and follow steps under touch screen responds inaccurately in the document.

Let me know how it goes.

I hope it helps and if you feel I have answered your question and concerns,

Please mark this post as a solution accepted and Kudos would also be appreciated.

Cheers.
