Spectre 13 x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

In August (2017) I ordered a Spectre 13 x 360 (Silver) from the HP store and after sending it back 3 times I gave up. The reason for returning them was that the trackpads on all the models delivered felt sligtly loose and made a "tinny" sound when tapping on them. At this price point it was a deal braker for me.

 

This problem has been noted on this forum before and the only advise I could see was to keep replacing it until you got a good one or get out a screwdriver and try and fix it yourself.

 

To check I wasn't going mad in complaining about something that was the same on all Spectre 13 x360 laptops I went to Currys where they had the ash copper version. The trackpad was much better and didn't rattle. Unfortunately they hadn't yet received the silver version.

 

The question I have is : "Is the trackpad on the silver version the same as the ash/copper version?" I cannot believe they are the same after this experience.
