HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c3000 IDS Base Model

I cannot get the external displays to work when I plug a docking station onto the type C usb on my HP Laptop 17t-cn300

The only dock that HP markets as being compatible with the 17t-cn300 laptop is the HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock.

 

I found this in the External I/O port specifications of your laptop.

"1 USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (supports data transfer only and does not support charging or external monitors)"

 

That could be the reason.
